Recipe Box, Savory Strawberry & Bacon Pizzette

I saw a recipe over at the Cafe Sucre Farine that sounded so intriguing,  Strawberry Balsamic Pizza with Chicken, Sweet Onion and Applewood Bacon. This blog is always full of sensational recipes, but some are a little labor intensive for me~ I tend to be lazy seek shortcuts~so let me share my version of the sweet and savory delight

I made this for a late dinner one night, just for moi, and it was so perfect.  It is light and full of flavor…It would be awesome for brunch or lunch too...

I used Mama Mary’s thin and crispy individual sized crusts

The sauce is made by mixing strawberry jam with a balsamic vinegar reduction.  Sounds fancy, right?  Nope,  easy peasy~

Top the sauce with some caramelized onions {I always make extra when I make them and keep them in a jar in the fridge}

And bacon. I had extra bacon from making the Amped Up Onion Dip the other day.  If you can think a little ahead you can save your self time and trouble by making big batches of ingredients when you are cooking anyway.

Oh yeah, there’s cheese

Again laziness prevailed and I used a pre-shredded Italian blend.  Shudder.  I never  rarely do this, please grate your own cheese~do as I say, not as I do~it really does pay off in flavor

Top with sliced strawberries and bake at 400 for about 10 minutes until everything is hot and bubbly happy

Serve it up!

Here’s the recipe:
