Tablescapes, Fall Hydrangeas and Pumpkins

My crazy hydrangeas are still blooming!

They didn’t do much this summer.  Too much rain and not enough sun I am thinking…But they have been going crazy the last month or so, they are about 6′ tall!

How do you set a table with summer blue and purple hydrangeas when it is 3 weeks before Thanksgiving and all you have is pumpkins and not a blue or purple element to go with them?

I started with a vase within a vase and decided to embrace the orange all around me

I filled it with excelsior moss and mini faux pumpkins

and piled lots of pumpkins around the base

It actually almost makes sense at this table where the orange pumpkins flanking the entry are visible through the side lights

and you can see the hydrangeas on the patio through the glass door directly across from the table

It’s kind of like bringing the outside in…so I gathered some more things that could possibly work

and ended up with an autumn table mimics the craziness of the seasons changing here in the deep south!

Large leaf place mats are topped with square rattan chargers, with a white dinner plate, orange salad plate,  and a white ramekin.

And naturally the turkeys trotted in…

We are going to be dining on Pumpkin Pasta~  I’ll be sharing the recipe with you later this week~

Thanks so much for stopping by!
