With summer just around the corner, I rounded up some of my favorite summer centerpieces, crafts and decor ideas to spark your creativity
They are fast, easy, and cheap!
A few shells and some glass pebbles instantly bring the sea to your table or vignette
Have everyone park their shoes by the door in this decorative Flip Flop basket
Use a big basket you already have, paint a section with color, and attach a colorful pair of flip flops to provide the hint to what the basket is for
I painted wooden flip flops from Hobby Lobby, but you can find a cute pair of kids flip flops at a discount store
Memorial Day is the official kick off to summer, so start rounding up your red, white & blue
This easy project requires no art skills, just spray paint, painter’s tape and a few patriotic ornaments from the craft store
You can see the tutorial here
See the bottles in action at the Grand Old Flag tables post here
This boat is filled with the unlikely mix of blue pebbles, roses, flags, baby’s breath and paper umbrellas for this Red White & Sea Blue centerpiece
You can see more Summer Centerpieces here
This one from Washed Ashore is so easy
A large basket tray holds a ceramic boat planter, netting, shells, sea glass, bottles, randomly piled up like it had been washed ashore by the tide
Battery operated tea lights are tucked in for night time ambience
This one is similar, using a large wooden boat to hold a mermaid and sea shells at this She Sells Seashells by the Seashore table
Shells & sea glass are great in pots too, with or without plants
Add a colorful gazing ball to your patio or garden for an unexpected pop of color

Use tiles for outdoor place mats, they won’t blow away! See more on Sea of Glass here
You don’t have to be an artist to paint some Watermelon Chargers, see the easy tutorial here
Nothing feels like summer more that bright colors
Have some fun with spray paint and bright accessories, ribbons or craft buttons and beads, see more on Bottle Bling here
Save bottle caps and see how crafty you can be with them
I didn’t make this fish, but he had hung out so long outside he got rusty
I gave him a little paint makeover…see more ideas on Somethin’s Fishy
“Fancy up” some flatware with shells, it’s easy to do, and really makes a statement on your table
You can see the tutorial on Fancy Flatware here
Brighten up your entry with a colorful door, see more Colorful Doors here
Perk up a pot with a little paint
I added a little color to this white pot with raised fish details with a light stroke, and painted a stripe around the rim
One more thing you’ve got to try
Fill a lantern with small colored bottles, baubles and even a colored glass jar, whatever you can find that fits,
add a string of battery operated LED mini lights or tea lights to create a beautiful vignette or centerpiece
You can see more on Sparkling Sea of Tranquility here
I hope I’ve made you want to get busy creating and crafting for summer!
