Tablescapes, Candyland

Is there anything cuter than the sheer delight candy brings to a child’s face?

The tricky part is keeping them from eating it!

The  gingerbread houses were ready for decorating with muffin tins full of goodies

And I was itching to do a little decorating myself…

I got out this gumdrop tree, made by a special friend years ago, along with a stash of candy I save just for decorative purposes

I warmed up the glue gun and got to work

After gluing the giant lollipops onto the gumdrops, candy canes and peppermints were added to cover the sticks

I think it turned out crazy cute!

And eyeballs got as big as saucers!

After a jolly afternoon of gingerbread house building, I set a table with all of the candy creations

Look at these masterpieces!

To make things easy, use house kits and hot glue them together in advance

frosting in a can is a real time saver and very user friendly

Older kids can manage squirting, and younger kids will need a little help

Charlie Brown {21/2} caught on right away and thought it was grand fun, he would put a candy on the icing, then he’d take it off, lick it and put it back on!

The kits came with a variety of candies, and I added some M & Ms and candy canes

The whole house smelled like a bakery shop!

An explosion of sweet treats!

Santa is watching from above to make sure no one tries to sneak a taste

The little artists were so busy licking their fingers and sampling candies they didn’t even touch the Snowy Cookie Tree, so I added it to the sweet vignettes in the kitchen

Ho Ho Ho, less than 2 weeks to go!
