Have you ever painted with goauche paint? It is similar to watercolor, but it is more opaque
I bought an inexpensive set of 24 colors and a palette pan
This is just like my watercolor palette, with individual pans that can be moved around
These metal palettes are airtight, light weight, and so handy for keeping supplies at your fingertips
You can use the inside of the lid for mixing colors, and it will wash right off
Extra pans are nice for keeping favorite color mixes already made up
The cases aren’t much bigger than an iPhone 7 Plus
I choose this Van Gogh print to coordinate with the dark blue and white daisies of my watercolor pan
You can buy these from Amazon here
I decided to paint some simple palm leaves to experiment with the paint and some of the colors
I wanted to design a palm print for my Society6 Shop
I loaded the brush and began the strokes from the center and quickly stroking up and out, letting the paint lighten towards the tips
I put an extra sheet underneath the paper so I could keep the strokes loose as they went off the paper
This helps the strokes look natural
I did the same thing on the another edge, this time starting the leaves on the under paper and letting them finish on the painting
Touches of blue
A light blue wash around the edges
More colors and smaller palms
