Fearless Friday, Last Minute Tags

I need an extra week before Christmas, how about you?  😂

I started off in December keeping up with the daily Doodlewash Challenge,

but I have been busy busy, finishing decorating, mailing packages and best of all celebrating my birthday!

So being wined and dined, spoiled and pampered for over a week, has put me behind in my studio, but this post from the archives is full of last minute Christmas ideas

Angels are so pretty for the holidays

And this simple angel design is one of my favorites

Pink dot cheeks are optional   😊

This fun little craft will add some love to your holiday gifts

Step 1

Paint a large dot for the face

Mix white with a little yellow and a little pink for a pretty peachy color, or use brown for darker skin tones

Step 2

Starting just below the face make a stroke down and curved to the left at the bottom, using a fat round brush

Then do a stroke on the right side starting at the top again, making the stroke curve down and finish towards the right side

I used a little yellow mixed with white so the strokes would be more visible on this practice sheet of white paper

Step 3

Fill in the center with one or two more strokes, leaving the bottom uneven

creating the illusion of a  flowing gown

Step 4

Add wings with gold paint,  in the same manner, ending the stroke about 2/3 of the way down, keeping the wings shorter that the gown

Step 5

Repeat on the other side and add a halo with the same fat brush with a quick short stroke above the head

That creates the halo look, the center of the brush stroke pushes the paint to the top and bottom, creating the look of a halo

You can also use a gold sharpie or paint pen to add details

These gold pens are handy, but the color is not as pretty as gold paint

My gold paint is fairly transparent, so I added some additional layers

The darker dots on the bottom are with Sharpie and the lighter dots are with paint

for these small tags I just added the halo with a short thin stroke

You’ve got to Believe!

Be Fearless and stay Merry!
