We have had such a rainy, dreary winter in the South
I’ve been filling my house with colorful flowers
Roses, daffodils tulips
I’ve never been especially drawn to tulips until I got some for Valentine’s day
Darling Daughter & Nicest Guy gave me this gorgeous arrangement
Red tulips surrounded by white and pink hydrangeas
in a beautiful frosted pink glass vase
I took it to the beach with me and added pink alstromeria
when some of the flowers started to fade…
The drooping tulips didn’t make the return trip
so I filled in with more alstromeria
and a red rose given to me by Big E
I just adored looking at this arrangement from my family
When the hydrangeas faded {some lasted 2 weeks!}
I added new red tulips
It wasn’t long before they started doing some curious things!
They started “looking around”
Everyday their position would change…
After several days the color started to turn
They were fading, but still quite active!
Even the boys noticed
“Gigi, your flowers are trying to escape!” said Big E
“Those flowers are so pretty Mom…” said HHjr
I bought more tulips to see what they would do
These were pretty, but just stood straight and tall,
they wouldn’t dance for me!
So to all my knowledgeable gardening friends,
Were the tulips trying to escape?
Were they turning toward the light?
Or were they just curious?
Tulips are fun to draw and paint
