CC and have have been talking about having a tea party for months
She wanted to invite her mom and her other grandmother
We decided Mother’s Day weekend would be perfect
I made an invitation with PicMonkey and sent it to everyone
The Flowering Teacup centerpiece
moved from the foyer to the dining room
so it could be a focal point at one end of the table
A large silver tray for the beverages
was placed at the other end of the table
A pretty clipboard stand held a copy of the invitation
with the menu printed underneath
CC came over earlier in the day to help set the table
and finish preparing the food
She spread cucumber slices with cream cheese
and sprinkled them with chopped green onion tops
We left some plain for her
She arranged the strawberries on the top tier
and put the Mimosa muffins and BLT skewers on the bottom
DD brought mini chicken salad sandwiches and
CCOG {CC’s other grandmother}
brought an assortment of baby cakes
from a popular local bakery
We placed the food down the center of the table
within reaching distance to grab or pass
Once we had everything ready we had a little photo shoot
CC chose where she wanted to sit and tried it out
She practiced her tea cup etiquette
When DD and CCOG arrived,
CC couldn’t wait to show them the dining room
Then we all sat down and the fun began!
I made the Mimosa muffins the day before
and the leftovers still are fresh and tasty 5 days later
I adapted the recipe from
Glazed Mimosa Bread from Lemon Tree Dwelling
I used an individual bottle of champagne,
it is just the right amount and only costs about $5
It really adds a lovely flavor and texture to the muffins
There is a dash in the icing too

Icing
- Make icing by combining ingredients, adding more powdered sugar or liquid if necessary until you reach the deisred consistency
- Poke a small hole in the center of each muffin so when you pour the glaze on , some will seep down into the muffins. Drizzle the muffins liberally with icing and sprinkle with orange zest
- Dice part of a fresh navel orange and place a piece over the hole in each muffin top
- Store muffins covered at room temperature for 4-5 days

Maple Bacon Aioli or mayonnaise
