Take-out Tuesday, Appetizer Wreath

I hope you are having a Jolly December!

We had a very Merry time at our annual family Christmas Eve

I “passed the torch” to DD this year

and she and her husband hosted our gathering

in their beautiful new home

We decided we wanted to keep it very simple this year

We ordered ham and cheese biscuits from a local bakery,

bought Pastry Pups from Trader Joe’s,

HHjr grilled Teriyaki Tenderloin

and I made a kid friendly appetizer wreath

Appetizer wreaths not only look very festive,

you can tailor them to your own taste

Parsley is the base of the wreath with salami roses tucked in

Salami roses are super easy to make and add a great wow factor

You can see two ways to make them here and here

Pretty red strawberries

Cherry tomatoes and rosemary

I made this wreath kid friendly

with cheese cubes and strawberries

Parmesan Crisps from Trader Joe’s fill the center

Serve with toothpicks for stabbing berries, tomatoes and cheese

I found these pretty paper plates and napkins at Swoozies

They were perfect with DD’s red and green holiday color scheme

and the gold accents in her house

Plus easy clean up!

Pretty Christmas cookies from a bakery were dessert

Every year I give the children some kind of goodie bags

Two families were missing this year,

spending Christmas with their other families,

so we only had 6 of the 11 grandchildren

They each got a bag of faux snowballs

and a pair of Christmas glasses

They had a ball having snowball fights out in the yard

and wearing their crazy glasses!

The guy in the festive Santa suit in the middle

is a close family friend…

He really surprised us when he arrived in this outfit!

Of course I had to give him a pair of glasses too!

I am looking forward to creating more seasonal and themed

edible wreaths throughout the year,

such a festive and easy appetizer!

You can also make a festive decorative

wreath for the new year!!
