I have always loved advent calendars,
especially the traditional ones with a little door you open
on the designated day and find a picture
Some calendars have a toy or candy
I have one that I put in the kitchen for my grandsons
When they were little they each got a bag with a surprise
Now that they’re older, I use this Santa
I put a peppermint or small chocolate in each pocket
This year I gave CC and Charlie Brown a Jigsaw Puzzle Advent Calendar
Each day they open a little box with about 20 pieces of the puzzle
They love to do family jigsaw puzzles,
and this sounds like so much fun!
Today I’m giving you an advent calendar for artists!
You can download a free printable here
Everyday there is a picture of something to draw, color or paint
Candy Cane, gingerbread house, ornament, reindeer
The daily picture is the prompt
For example, on Dec. 1 you can draw the candy cane that is pictured,
or you can use a different picture of a candy cane,
or you can make up your own candy cane,
or be inspired to do something peppermint
Christmas tree, gingerbread man, present, hot chocolate
The prompt pictures are just a starting off point~
I chose things that you can draw quickly
but if you have more time,
you can draw or paint a whole scene or vignette
Tree carrying snowman, angel, elf legs, stocking
Rudolph, bell ringing snowman, deer ornament, Grinch hand
Boy in a Christmas sweater, candles, reindeer, noel
Mailbox, wreath, Joy, Santa in a chimney
You might even be inspired to do a craft!
Merry Drawing!
Be Fearless!
