Fall Wine Glasses

It’s time for the monthly Creative Craft blog hop

We are lucky to have 2 wonderful hostesses,

Thank you Sara and Donna!

This month our hostess is Donna from Modern on Monticello

Welcome friends, readers,

and visitors from Decorate and More with Tip

Today is my daughter’s birthday

and one thing she asked for was a Halloween wine glass

We both like to drink white wine

and like to drink it in insulated wine cups

I decided to paint a witch hat on one and a pumpkin on another

so she could use it through Thanksgiving

Let me show you the steps for these simple designs

You will need a medium round paint brush,

a small pointed brush, and acrylic craft paint

Let’s start with the pumpkin

Dip a medium round brush into orange and then yellow paint

Make a C stroke and as you stroke,

the colors will mix

Reload your brush and make a backwards C stroke

for the other side of the pumpkin

Continue to make these strokes until the pumpkin is filled in

Clean your brush then dip it in brown for the stem

Make short fat overlapping strokes to finish the stem

Use the small pointed brush to paint some curly vines

Add simple leaf shapes with a small brush

dipped in green and a touch of yellow

I used an acrylic paint pen to add dots

For the witch’s hat,

use the medium round brush and black paint

and make 2 strokes forming a triangle

Then fill it in and do a wavy horizontal stroke for the brim

Then clean up any rough edges with a small pointed brush

Add a spider dangling from the tip of the hat

When the black paint is dry, add a yellow star and an orange band,

and finish with orange dots

Once the paint has dried for 24 hours, it will be permanent,

but I recommend gently hand washing

You could also paint these designs on glasses, cards or place cards,

anything you want!

If you want to paint on glass,

be sure to use a curable paint for glass
