Cheese Stars
a fast, easy and festive snack that everyone will love!
Equipment
- cookie cutters
Ingredients
- bread slices I use Pepperidge Farm thin bread
- quality Mayonnaise, I like Duke's
- grated sharp cheddar, or any cheese
- fresh shaved Parmesan,optional
Instructions
- Cut the bread slices into shapes or into 1/4s
- Toast lightly, then spread with a generous layer of mayonnaise
- Top with grated cheese
- Bake at 350-400 degrees for 10 minutes, watching carefully, until toasts are golden and cheese has melted
- Remove from oven and top with Parmesan if desired and return toasts to oven for 1 more minute to melt
- Serve hot or at room temperature
Notes
These are great with cocktails, soup or salad
Use any type of bread or cheese you like
Use a rolling pin to flatten bread slices if you want to make your own thin bread
