Cuisine American
- shortbread cookies or any cookie you like {I used 16 Keebler Sandies cookies}
- 2 8 oz. pkg cream cheese softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp orange extract* *optional to boost orange flavor
- 1 3.3 oz box orange Jello
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 8 oz. Cool Whip thawed
Combine jello with boiling water, whisking to dissolve. Set aside to cool completely, about 1 hour.
Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla or orange extract until smooth.
Add 1/2 of Cool Whip to cooled jello mixture and stir until mixed
Add the rest of the Cool Whip to the cream cheese mixture and fold to combine.
Crumble cookies by placing them in a ziplock bag and smashing them with a rolling pin or can. Place a layer of cookie crumbs in the bottom of each jar. Layer the cream cheese mixture and jello mixture in jars on top of cookies. Finish with a sprinkle of cookie crumbs. Place lids on jars and put in the refrigerator to set, at least 4 hours before serving.
Will keep in refrigerator 5-7 days.
