We have a big family lunch on Christmas Eve at our house every year with HH’s sister and her children and grandchildren. This is our first year to do a real children’s table! Previous years we just did high chairs and laps, but now there are 4 children who are old enough to have their own little table…
I bought this white plastic picnic style table from Walmart for $49. It folds for easy storage, and it will come in handy at the beach house too…
I set it up next to the “grown-ups” table
and covered it with white freezer paper, and just wrote their names with some red paint in a child like font
I bought an “elf on the shelf” because I thought it would be a fun tradition to start at our house on Christmas Eve, so all the kiddos would remember they still had to behave!
He is sitting in a Santa face vase and fishing in a polka dot bowl full of red & green goldfish
See the Santa hats all in a row?
The elf has cleverly hidden a chocolate kiss under each hat for the little ones to find!
The Santa hats are ice cream cones painted red with some cotton glued on them
The two little Boston cousins are staying in Boston this year, but will join us again next year… and New Baby will be running around by then too…plus we have 3 babies due this spring! Next year there will be 10 children under 6 for Christmas Eve! Yikes, maybe we can have it outside?
Merry Jolly Holiday! I hope your plans are in full swing!
