Tablescapes, Feelin’ Witchy?

Welcome!

There’s a small gathering of witches here this evening

Don’t mind Casper Jr. over there, he just thinks he’s scary

as does little Miss “Boo-Hoo!”

There’s broom parking here if you need it

The witches will be arriving soon, but I can show you around in the meantime~Come on in!

The table in the foyer is ready for a seance or two

I have a little confession to make~ there is a shady part of my past~

One of my cousins researched our family tree some years ago

The finished tree/chart is hanging right here near the table.  That is me at the very bottom near the arrow.

In the very center of the tree are my fraternal grandparents and the triangle, bottom center, features my father and all his siblings and their descendants.  The rest of the circle radiates through time, backwards to some interesting discoveries~

She uncovered some royal ancestors, some Mayflower passengers and…

A Witch!  Yikes!  Actually hung in Salem Massachusetts in 1692!

There it is, my shameful secret.  Poor thing, she was probably just some crazy funky artista, ahead of her time!  Terrible!

I do seem to have an affinity for witches though, but I like the cute nice ones!

So to celebrate witches, I thought I’d honor them with a special Halloween table!

The chandelier turned into a giant witch hat!

and mini witch hats dangle from the “brim”

Sparkly spider web fabric covers the side chairs

secured by an orange sash

The head places got burlap bows and witches boots

After trimming the polka dot burlap table runner I had just enough for 2 bows

I cut the edges and created a few rows of fringe

The burlap ghosts and owl surround the witch on her central pedestal

where she oversees the table with her loyal owl at her feet

She has a bottle of poison just in case someone gets out of line~

the ghosts are on constant watch

protecting her brew and magic potions

I have another little secret, this one not so shameful, I bought these plates this summer, how could I resist~

each has a mini ceramic figurine

2 gray, 2 orange~

they were supposed to be dinner size, but I was only disappointed for a half a second because they so cute!

The set only had 4 so I used my 2 skeleton plates for the places at the table ends

Dracula might stop by for a bite

and there’s bound to be more ghosts too

but it’s the witches I want to make happy tonight,

with Halloween Oreo cookies

and white cheddar skeleton bones

and some candied bugs to munch on…

and what’s a Halloween party without candy corn?

Witches enjoy a good book

especially about them,

And they LOVE a nice bottle of wine!

I think we’re ready for quite a witchy night!

Thanks so much for visiting, do you have some skeletons in your closet too?
