Creations, Last Minute Gift Ideas

HH’s mother will be 98 in January and is still sharp as a tack.  She is a tough old bird  so hard to shop for, you know insists she doesn’t need anything and doesn’t want more stuff.   I decided this year to take her some Christmas goodies to enjoy now,  instead of giving her something on Christmas that she would open and just leave at my house like she did last year!

Good Old Target to the rescue!

Front and center at the entrance was a big display of stocking stuffers and small sized muchies

Then I spied a display of felt gift buckets [$6.99] and headed to the wine section [Yes, she loves her nightly glass!]

There are so many cute bottle dress ups for all occasions~ These are some that were gifted to me by special friends~don’t you love the fur wrap with the rhinestone bling?  Burlap makes an easy dress-up for gifts too, you can see a tutorial for an easy burlap wine bag here

or simply tuck the wine in a bright wine sack inside your bucket.  I purposely choose all red and green items~

Line your basket with a Christmas towel or napkin for an extra touch

and your gift is wrapped and ready to make anyone happy!  Except for your MIL.  I haven’t done anything right in her eyes for decades! But she loves it when I give her wine so I’m all set!

While I was at Target I spied this gingerbread house kit in the bakery section [$8.50].  Super Boy immediately added a banana!  You know if you see a candy banana on a gingerbread house it is going to be special!

A real gingerbread house, glued on a cardboard square and it came with ready made icing!  Woohoo, that was a no-brainer!

With some candy canes, gummy trees and leftover Halloween candy, Super Boy and his Dad created a Super House in no time at all!  See the Christmas tree in the “window?”

Is there a Grill Master on your list? He will love this gift of assorted wood chips~

HHjr gives this gift to his Dad and other man friends every year and they love it!

He packs them in labeled plastic containers and they can be stored by the grill [in the South anyway] or in a garden shed or garage.

You can see more photos and details on this Last Minute Guy Gift here

Hope you are winding down your shopping and starting to enjoy the fun!
