Take-out Tuesday, Amazing Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Have you ever heard of PB2?

Powdered Peanut Butter?

Peanut butter is my very favorite food, but I had never heard of the powdered version until just recently and immediately had to check it out~

All the peanut butter flavor and goodness with much less fat and calories, why not!

I decided to start with cookies

I found this recipe on the Bell Plantation website, the company that makes PB2.

Their recipe title is Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookies~

I agree, these could be the best cookies I’ve ever made!

I am calling mine Amazing Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies!

It’s a small batch recipe too, it makes about 15 nice round cookies

Easy to make up in minutes~

Cream butter with sugars, then add egg and vanilla

Add flour, salt and baking soda

When batter comes together, stir in chocolate chips and place scoops on a baking sheet

Bake for 10 minutes

And you have a pan full of heavenly cookies!

Which have all run together because I made the scoops too big, was too lazy to do 2 batches, and I didn’t have any parchment paper to line the pan…            ^^’

So if you want round perfect cookies, line your pan with parchment paper and leave plenty of room between cookies, and use 2 pans  🙂

You won’t care what shape they are once you eat one!

Be sure to read the note below about the pros and cons of peanut butter powder, you save on calories but lose on benefits…but it is an easy way to add the flavor with out the mess!

Amazing Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 T PB2
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Cream butter and sugars in a mixer at medium speed.
  • Add vanilla and eggs while mixing.
  • Turn off mixer and add flour, PB2, salt and baking soda. Beat at slow speed just until flour is incorporated into butter and sugar mixture.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Using cookie scoop, form balls of cough and drop on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 9-10 minutes at 375*. Remove from oven and let cool for at least 10 minutes on cookie sheet. Makes 15 large cookies

“Two tablespoons of Jif’s natural, creamy peanut butter spread contains 190 calories, 16 grams of fat and 3 grams of sugar. The same amount of Bell Plantation’s PB2 has 45 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and 1 gram of sugar.

The standalone stats might make you think that peanut butter’s powdered version is a dieter’s dream. It’s true, products like PB2 whack down the calorie count, but as it loses the fat, the the spread becomes depleted of the mighty health benefits of the acclaimed full-fat peanut butter. It’s seemingly counter-intuitive, but the full-fat spread can actually promote weight loss and satiety, as Prevention reports. Powdered peanut butter can’t necessarily manifest the same benefits.

Still, if you want a lightened-up rendition of your favorite peanut butter dish, powdered versions like PB2 can be a crafty substitution. I ordered my PB2 from Amazon.com here, but look at your local stores, I recently saw it at my regular grocery store, Publix.  Oh, and it comes in Chocolate too! 🙂
