Recipe Box, Spiralized Pear Salad

This is a great salad to take a break from all the heavy holiday food

it will leave you feeling satisfied and refreshed

And it’s not really a recipe as it is a suggestion for you to put your own spin on {forgive the pun}

I bought this spiralizer several years ago, it’s so much fun and easy to use, and it makes lots more things than just zoodles…

I loved the texture these spiralized pears added to a simple salad to elevate it into something a little special and different

There are several really good chopped salad varieties available now, and I love to grab a bag and mix in some fresh greens of my own

I didn’t want to mix the pears in with the Asian flavors, so I stored the seasonings and dressing for a different salad later and  borrowed just part of the chopped greens and added my own torn fresh romaine and spinach

Pears and bleu cheese go together like bread and butter,  so in went some goronzola crumbles, and some prepared salad toppers, Raspberry Cranberry Walnut Frisco

I did peel my pear because the skin had some dark spots  was not very pretty,  but leave the skin on if you prefer

The spiralizer made quick work of a ripe pear

Put the pear on top of the other ingredients in the bowl and seal it tightly with plastic wrap, and you can put it in the refrigerator until later

Dress the salad with a light vinaigrette and toss, right before serving

I used my go to favorite Mustard & Maple dressing,  it goes with everything
