I recently finished this commissioned painting which is titled “Peacock Dreams”
The client requested a 48″ H x 36″ W wrapped canvas abstract, mostly whites and grays, with touches of green, blue, and gold
The greenish-blue areas seemed to take on the form and feel of peacocks
It looks fabulous hanging in her Sea Grove Beach, Florida home
I started by placing the large canvas horizontally on my easel and painting the bottom portion with a medium gray
While the gray was still wet, I blended in metallic blue
Next an underpainting of off white and pale gray was blended from the top down
More shades of metallic greens and blues
Additional white, mixing and blending
Now for the fun part, adding gold and gold leaf
I used a squeeze bottle of thin acrylic gold and let lines run freely down the canvas in some areas, and added gold leaf in others
And then silver leaf
Do you see the peacocks?
It’s always hard for me to part with my paintings, but this one has a beautiful home
And I ordered a little memento for myself from Society6
“Peacock Dreams” is available on 20 different items in my Society6 Shop here
Thanks Nan, for letting me share your painting and beautiful home!
Have fun and Be Fearless!
