Fearless Friday, Painting Gnomes

Earlier this week we created easy gnomes with bottles, felt and yarn, so today let’s take it one step further and paint some!

Use craft paint that is specifically for glass, you can see a great tutorial here for a full explanation of glass painting and curing

The gnomes are just a few simple shapes, start with a red swoosh stroke, using a medium round brush {#6-8}

Next, add a little more paint to establish more of a hat shape

Next make a green hat shape, leaving a space in the middle for the 3rd gnome which will be painted last

The beard is made with quick white strokes, right beneath the hat, going in various directions

Be careful not to over work it, less is more here

Next a gray beard in the center, slightly overlapping the white beards.  For the gray I didn’t mix the gray completely, rather I loaded my brush with white, gray and black so the strokes would have more depth

Then the center gnome got a dark gray hat

Let them dry before adding noses and pom poms

A few dots, stripes, and you’re done!

On the glasses I painted just 3 gnomes, but on the vase I painted them on all sides

Paint the gnomes in any colors you like, they would look cute in any combo, even tones of just white!

Vases aren’t just for flowers…

They make great candy cane holders too!

Add some holiday gnomes to your decor this year!

Have some Fearless Holiday Fun!!
