Have you ever been so inspired by something
that you literally stopped in your tracks
and went to get what was needed to make something similar?
That is what happened to me last week
when I saw a fabulous fall floral arrangement
in a beautiful copper tureen
I didn’t have a beautiful copper tureen
but I did have a large ceramic pumpkin tureen
And after a quick dash to one of my favorite flower sources
I filled the pumpkin with pale blue hydrangeas,
orange spray roses, golden yellow roses,
seasonal faux sprigs, and mini pumpkins
The pumpkin is elevated with a rustic green ceramic stand
which is surrounded by a wreath
of fall leaves and mini pumpkins
I set the table with melamine hydrangea plates
which sit on top of a green ceramic square charger
and a ruffled place mat
Even though hydrangeas are considered a summer flower,
I think they look great with pumpkins too…
I love the oranges accented with the soft hydrangea blue
I have done a tablescape with pumpkins and hydrangeas before,
one year my hydrangeas were still blooming in October!
You can see the Hydrangeas and Pumpkins tablescape here
And speaking of Summer flowers,
as your sunflowers fade, don’t toss them!
Cut the stems off and use the blooms decoratively
They are wonderful in vignettes
You can put them on a tray or in a basket
Or on a pretty plate or cake stand 🌻
It’s even starting to feel like fall in the South!
Thank you Shirley for your fabulous inspiration!
