Take-out Tuesday, Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Sandwiches

School has started in Alabama

and with it comes hectic afternoons and evenings

The slow cooker is invaluable for making

and holding dinner on busy nights

This recipe is family friendly, perfect for days

when everyone coming and going at different times

The tasty tangy sauce is made with pantry ingredients,

ketchup, garlic, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, brown sugar,

Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, salt & pepper

Spray or line your slow cooker and then add the sauce ingredients

Mix the sauce right in the pot!

Brown the ground beef

Drain the beef thoroughly and add it to the sauce in the slow cooker

Cook on low for 4 hours

Now all that needs to be done is toast the buns

and dinner is ready!

Place a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on the toasted bun bottom

and top with the hot beef

The hot beef will melt the cheese for a very flavorful sandwich

This recipe is adapted from Center Cut Cook

Notes

Variations:
Chop an onion and brown in skillet and add it to beef and sauce if desired, or garnish with chopped raw onion when serving
Serve meat over a baked potato instead of a bun
For a low carb version wrap meat in a large lettuce leaf
If you want to cook this stove top, use the same directions and put the ingredients into a large deep pot and simmer on low heat for an hour to let flavors blend

Enjoy!
