Today we’re going to relax with colored pencils
and recreate this tulip art I saw on Pinterest
I was unable to source the artist
but I just loved the flow of the flowers,
the artist really captured the way tulips move and change
Just like the Pink Gladiolas we drew and painted a few weeks ago,
I began by drawing the flowers shape by shape
This time I started with the lower bloom
Then I drew in the top bloom and the leaves
If you want to color along there is a free printable here
I have several brands of colored pencils
One of my favorites is this boxed set from Bruynzeel Designs
It has four drawers holding the pencils in individual trays
for easy access
and the box keeps your desk top neat and organized
It is available on Amazon here
I used 5 shades of greens for the leaves, ranging from light to dark
The petals were colored with light and medium peach, yellow, pink and red
Color the lightest areas first, and build color as you go, blending
“Tulips” 9″x 12″ colored pencil on mixed media paper
Have some coloring fun and
Be Fearless!
I recently got some new sketch books that I am just crazy about
They are for mixed media and so far I’ve used markers,
watercolor, and colored pencils and the paper is fantastic for all
They come in a set of 2, 60 pages each,
spiral bound at the top and a durable hard cover
for a great price $18.99
You can get them here
