Let’s cool off today with a refreshing Summer cocktail
I have been on a drink painting kick this summer
After a month of daily watercolors in July,
I enjoyed getting back to acrylic with another “Summer Sipper”
The photos below were my inspiration for today’s cocktail
I started with a black canvas and painted in the background
with shades of blue and turquoise,
leaving a glass shape in the center
Next a stroke of yellow orange
and orange
Then lighter and darker shades of yellow and orange
Next a few lines with off-white to indicate the glass rim
Placing the lemon slice
The straw with a refracted image caused by the glass rim
Filling in details and more dabs of color
Creating some drama in the foreground
And a green sprig for garnish!
White highlights and some small dabs of color in the background to finish
“Summer Sipper” 8″ x 10″ acrylic on canvas
Food and drinks are fun to draw and paint~
have some fun and
Be Fearless!
