Fearless Friday, Witchy Pumpkin

Trick or Treat!

Let’s have a little Halloween fun today

and draw and color a witchy pumpkin!

This photo from Lady Bug Wreaths was my inspiration

I started with a pencil sketch

adding my own version of her hat,

with a spider web, buckle and dangling spooky spider

Next I went over the sketch with a waterproof black liner pen,

and erased the pencil

I added more details as I inked

I made a free printable if you want to color along,

you can download it here

Let the coloring begin!

Yellow for the cut edges for her features and hat buckle

I used a medium gray for the highlighted areas on the hat

{on black surface highlights aren’t going to be white,

more like a soft gray}

Then I began filling in the black areas with a dual tip pen

The fine tip is great for outlining and small spaces

and then I used the broad chisel tip for large areas

I use a set of Calliart Markers that I got from Amazon here

Next a deep orange for the more shadowed areas of the pumpkin

on the sides, bottom, in the groves and under the hat

Then I used a lighter orange yellow to fill in the rest

A touch of lime on the hat band,

and squiggly lines for her hair with green, orange and black

Some yellow dots with a Kuretake Zip Color Dot Marker

Then a few black dots to finish!

If you don’t want to color your own,

you can download this colored one here

and use it to decorate a space in your home

Be Fearless!
