Fearless Friday, Lucky Sheep for St. Patrick’s Day

☘️ Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️

Today, in honor of Irish things, we are going to draw a lucky sheep!

This is a simple little doodle drawing

You can do this for a journal page,

on a St. Patrick’s Day card, or on a gift bag

I used a couple of photos from Pixabay, a free photo source,

for inspiration

I began a pencil sketch with a simple Mary Englebreit type flower

Then I drew the sheep’s head

then the body and legs

More flowers around the neck

The face

Next I outlined over the pencil with a fine tip marker

Then I added some texture to her wooly coat

using U shapes with a .01 fine liner pen

I added peach circles to the face for her cheeks,

and colored her nose with gray

and added gray highlights to her hoofs

I colored the flowers with pink

and used 2 shades of green for the leaves,

and colored in her hoofs with black

Then I added a few shamrocks to each side

These little shamrocks are just 3 dots and a stem

Light green dots made with a Color Dot pen*

filled in the background

*there is a great set on Amazon here
