The Doodlewash art challenge prompt for today is bear
I looked at teddy bears online and was inspired by these little cuties
I decided to put a hat and scarf on the bear facing forward
and gift him a gift to hold
I made adjustments as I went along,
but didn’t bother erasing them since I would be erasing everything
once the drawing was inked over
I inked over the correct pencil lines and erased all the pencil

I started by coloring the hat with markers
I used 2 shades of red and a very light cool gray for shadows on the white
Next the feet, ear, cheeks and red bow on the package
Two shades of green on the scarf and mittens
I colored his furry body with a caramel color,
then went over it with dark brown,
letting some of the caramel slightly show through in several places
to add a little dimension
I painted in a soft background with watercolor and added some splatter
I couldn’t resist giving the box and black and white checked lid
