Sunday Supper, Maple Bacon Onion Rings

Warmer temps mean it’s grilling season!

My son, the Chef, loves to cook out, especially on Sundays

Amp up your grilled chicken, steak or burgers

with a side of onion rings wrapped in bacon

Wrap a piece of bacon around several thick slices of onion

I used Maple bacon for another layer of flavor

but you can use regular bacon also

Leave 2 or 3 of the outer rings together

and remove the smaller inner rings

and reserve for another use

Gently stretch the bacon so one piece will wrap the entire ring

Place rings on a medium hot grill, and cook until bacon is done

or bake on a foil lined baking sheet

at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes until bacon is crisp

The onion is soft and sweet and the bacon is crispy and salty
