Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup Alfredo Sauce
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 5 slices cooked bacon torn into small pieces
  • 1 yellow or sweet onion sliced
  • 5 oz. Finely grated Gruyere cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Sage leaves tear into smaller pieces if leaves are large

Instructions

  • Caramelize onion in a skillet with butter and olive oil, seasoned with salt and pepper, low and slow about 20-25 minutes, stirring, occasionally
  • OR you can caramelize onion in the oven: Place onion on a parchment lined or sprayed rimmed cookie sheet. Drizzle with oil, water and salt. Roast in a 400 degree oven for 40 minutes, stirring once or twice.
  • Roll out pastry onto a piece of parchment paper. Prick all over with a fork and score the edge with a sharp knife to create a border. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • Top pastry with a generous layer of Alfredo sauce. Spread/swirl pumpkin puree over Alfredo. Top with onions, bacon and then sprinkle with sage leaves, and top with Gruyere
  • Bake at 375 for 10 more minutes, or until heated through and melted. Garnish with Parmesan and cut into squares to serve
