Take-out Tuesday, Steak House Fries with Garlic and Parsley

Let’s start by saying that my husband  is really spoiled  is really sweet, but he rarely raves about anything.   He LOVED these potatoes, said they were they best he’d ever had, and even mentioned them again the next day~

So in another words, you might want to try these 😋

They are so EASY to make, just cut regular baking potatoes into planks.   Cut potatoes in halves horizontally first then slice each half into thick slices, and then cut the slices in half again, forming potato “fingers or planks”

Put the potatoes on a well sprayed, foil lined baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil and season

Once the potatoes look like this, about 40 minutes or so, toss them with a little more oil mixed with garlic and parsley

So much better than boring old french fries

And because the potatoes are roasted with the skins on, they not only have more flavor, they are much more nutritious

And yes, they are perfect with a little steak on the side!

Steak House Fries with Garlic and Parsley

Ingredients

  • 2 large russet potatoes scrubbed
  • olive oil spray
  • olive oil
  • kosher or sea salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 T fresh flat leaf parsley chopped

Instructions

  • Cut potatoes in half horizontally, then cut each half into 6 thick slices, then cut the larger slices in half again, forming potato fingers or planks.
  • Place potatoes on a foil lined baking sheet that has been generously sprayed with olive oil spray.
  • Drizzle liberally with olive oil and season well with salt and pepper.
  • Bake at 400 for 30 minutes, flipping after 15 minutes if possible.
  • Increase oven to 450 and return potatoes to oven for 10 more minutes or until browned around edges.
  • Mix 1/2 Tablespoon olive oil with garlic and parsley.
  • When potatoes are done, drizzle them with the garlic mix and toss to coat evenly. Serve immediately. Makes 4 servings
