Well, it’s time to start working on shedding the holiday pounds, so let’s get inspired by creating a delicious salad in a jar
My favorite salads have a combo of sweet fruit, tangy cheese, crunchy nuts, lots of greens and maybe a little bacon with a vinaigrette or creamy dressing
But you can paint any combo of ingredients you like!
I made an inspiration collage in Photoshop {you can do the same thing in PicMonkey, just add your photos as overlays}
Begin with a pencil sketch, drawing the jar first and then adding the layers of ingredients with simple shape outlines
Start building up the colors, and then erase pencil lines when you have everything established
I used watercolor but you can use colored markers or pencil if you prefer
Add some dark green lines to indicate the different greens
Add more details with black ink or fine tipped colored marker pens
The jar lid is light on the top, with shadows where it curves to the back, and just a few lines indicate the groves of the tin lid
Don’t worry if it looks simple, there’s a trick to pull it together for the final step
Ok, here’s the finish, black marker around the ingredients to make everything pop
Black is great for adding drama
Instead of doing the labeling by hand, I uploaded the jar to PicMonkey as an overlay on a document creation and then added the text and frame
If you don’t want to paint your own jar of salad, you can download the printable of this one here
Happy New Year!
