Take-out Tuesday, Hawaiian Pizza Bubble Up

Hawaiian pizza with pineapple and bacon

is a favorite combo at our house

I decided to make a bubble up casserole with these ingredients

Instead of piling toppings on a pizza crust,

put them in a casserole with cut up biscuit dough pieces

It’s easy peasy to make and it bakes up into a tempting sweet and savory

buttery bread pudding…

You can serve it so many ways, main dish, side dish, appetizer

You can bake it in a dish,

or increase the ingredients and bake it in a bundt pan

like monkey bread

You can use ham, bacon, Canadian bacon, or prosciutto

You can use fresh or canned pineapple and regular or Grand style biscuits

I used extra sharp white cheddar, but any cheese will work

I chose to use butter,

but you could use marinara, pizza sauce or Alfredo sauce

Endless possibilities!

Cut the biscuits into 1/4s

Place them in a casserole that is sized to fit the pieces close together

with a little space between them

Pour melted butter over top

and roll them around a little to coat

Top with pineapple

Then bacon pieces

And cheese

At this point you can cover it and refrigerate for baking later if desired

Bring dish to room temperature

and then put it in the oven and let the magic happen

Dig in!
