Butter Boards are all the rage right now,
they are literally cutting boards smeared with a thick layer
of flavored butter
and served with a variety of breads, crackers,
and fruit for spreading and dipping
I decided to put a little spin on the concept
by making individual butter boards and serving them on plates
with the dippers ready for selecting
on a tray in the center of the table
I made a sweet and savory seasonal
Pumpkin Pecan Butter
First mix the butter with chopped pecans,
brown sugar, and maple syrup
Once this mixture is combined, add the pumpkin puree
Spread a thick layer of cream cheese onto the board
Top with a generous layer of pumpkin pecan butter
Garnish with chopped dried cranberries and honey roasted pistachios
I set a table with all things pumpkin
and placed a board with apples, cookies, and crackers,
on a tray in the center
The choices for things to dip or spread is infinite,
toast points, baguette slices, bagels,
cookies, crackers, apples, pears…
I chose shortbread cookies, apple slices,
and Nut Thins crackers
