Do you have a traditional dish you serve every year

for Christmas morning breakfast?

Christmas Morning Strata was our traditional breakfast for years

Simple bread squares baked with bacon,

eggs, cheese, green onions and cream

You make it a day ahead and refrigerate it overnight

for baking in the morning {recipe at the end of the post}

Another easy breakfast is Croissant Brunch Bake

Ham and cheese croissants are baked with eggs and milk

Prep it the day before and refrigerate overnight

Make an easy Sausage Pancake Lasagna using frozen pancakes

All you have to do is brown the sausage,

mix up an egg custard and combine it all in a casserole to bake

Take canned cinnamon rolls to the next level

by wrapping them around a cooked sausage link before baking

Angel Wings are made with Crescent Roll dough

It is spread with raspberry pie filling and white chocolate chips

and rolled up from both sides to the center,

then sliced, baked and iced

Make Bacon Roses to decorate the breakfast plates

All you have to do is to roll up raw bacon strips

and bake them in a mini muffin pan until crispy!

Christmas Morning Strata

A fancy version of bacon and eggs!

Ingredients

  • 8 slices Pepperidge Farm thin white bread buttered and cubed [remove crusts]
  • 1 c grated cheddar
  • 1 c grated Swiss
  • 6 -8 eggs beaten
  • 2 c 1/2 n 1/2 or cream
  • 8-10 slices bacon cooked and crumbled [OR use sausage or a combination]
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • chopped green onion and/or red peppers [optional]

Instructions

  • In a greased 3 qt casserole layer 1/2 the bread and top with 1/2 bacon and cheeses. Repeat.
  • Combine eggs with cream and seasonings and pour over all. Refrigerate overnight.
  • Let sit at room temp 1/2 hour before baking at 350 45-60 min.
