Fearless Friday, Fun with Flowers

Last week we painted a simple Bird on a branch with watercolor

One of my good friends and a loyal reader, Leslie Anne Tarabella

was inspired by this painting and wrote a special post about it

Leslie Anne is a talented published author,

Let’s play with markers today and have some fun with flowers

This is a different way to approach a subject

This is the inspiration photo I used

First, the simple shapes of the pink flowers drawn with marker

Yellow and peach shapes for the other flowers

3 shades of green for the leaves, stems and foliage areas

and it’s starting to look like something!

Gray lines for the vase

Flower petals and centers were drawn with a .05 fine liner pen

Yellow roses

Peach petals

Leaf shapes and scribbles

Letting the liner pen be loose and going outside the colors

into the white adds interest and vibrance

Then I added blue for water in the vase

More scribbles, squiggles and lines to finish

“Scribble Flowers” 9″ x 12″ alcohol marker and ink on mixed media paper

Have some fun with color, shapes and scribbles

Be Fearless!
