Fearless Friday, Fall and Thanksgiving Decor and Tabletop

Have you started thinking about Thanksgiving yet?

I’m participating in a Thanksgiving Tablescape blog hop soon so,

I’ve been thinking about how I’m going to set my table

Today I’m sharing ideas for you to make

for your late Fall and or Thanksgiving table or vignettes

Here’s a super simple idea

Use a pretty leaf, like a magnolia leaf,

to add a sentiment to the place settings

I wrote Blessings on the leaves with a gold paint pen

I realize that not everyone has a magnolia tree in their yard,

you can also use faux magnolia leaves, paper Autumn leaves or

make your own leaves with watercolor for a colorful pop

Pumpkins and Pilgrims Tablescape

They are easy to make and you don’t have to have mad art skills

Paint a piece of watercolor paper with water

and then drop in red, orange, yellow and green

and let the colors mix into an abstract collage

When the paint dries, draw various leaf shapes and cut them out

Punch a hole and insert a piece of twine or ribbon

See the complete tutorial here

You can also draw a turkey and put him on place cards or a printed menu

You can design place cards and menus with PicMonkey

or a photo editing site

To draw the turkey

Start with a bowling pin shape,

then add a beak and a wattle,

then feathers, legs, and a pilgrim hat

Go over it with ink, erase the pencil lines and color with markers

You can make small menus to print out and put at every place

or a large one for a sideboard or buffet table

Indian corn would be pretty on place cards and menus too

You can download a free printable

of this Indian corn drawing here if you want to use it

How about a painted bottle with Indian corn

for a Thanksgiving decoration

You can also paint a turkey on a board or canvas

I painted this little board to hang in the center of a fall wreath

You can see the complete tutorial here

You can paint turkeys on glasses too

Just a few simple strokes and a turkey is born!

You can see the complete tutorial here

Here’s another fun idea,

paint the turkey’s body and head on a vase

and fill it with feathers, flowers or wheat for his tail
