Hungry?
Oh good, let’s have a piece of cherry pie!
And it’s no calories too~ Let’s dive in…
This photo from Pixabay is what I used for a model
Pixabay is a great place to find free photos
of things you want to draw/paint
I drew an outline of the pie crust to get the feel
and size of the shape
and then went back and lightly erased it
so it would not show through the watercolor
After the first stroke of very light Yellow Ochre,
I decided to use colored pencils too
Dark brown watercolor
Dark brown colored pencil
Red watercolor cherries and more pencil on the top crust
More cherries with light and dark shades of reds
More watercolor washes on the top crust
Dark brownish red colored pencil
A few final touches
“Cherry Pie” 5″x 4″ mixed media on mixed media paper
