Fearless Friday, Fall Door

Today we are going to draw and paint a front door

decorated for Fall

I made a collage of front doors

I found on Unsplash and Pinterest

to use for reference and inspiration

I started with a pencil sketch, using a ruler to draw the lines

Then I inked over it and added a light and a few pumpkins,

just loose and free, not perfect at all

Then a little color, again just free and loose

A little color on the pumpkins and light,

and yellow and orange abstract shapes

indicating Fall leaves

A little sap green

Shadows with light grays

Scribble lines for a finishing touch

“Fall Door” 5″ x 7″ watercolor and ink on mixed media paper

This type of painting is not meant to be realistic,

it’s an impression and it’s a fun way to loosen things up a little~

and a great way to

Be Fearless!
