Cheeseburger Quesadillas

This is a combination of Taco Tuesday and hamburger night!

This burger style quesadilla, 

🍔   A great way to enjoy a “burger” any time~

rain or shine, too hot, too cold for grilling,

you can still enjoy a delicious cheesy “burger”

You don’t need a lot of ingredients either,

hamburger meat, cheese of choice, flour tortillas,

and lettuce and tomato for a side salad

Saute onion until transparent

Add the hamburger meat and cook until browned

Carefully drain off fat

Season meat with a dash of Worcestershire sauce,

salt & pepper and a sprinkle of garlic powder

**Cook tortillas quickly in a skillet with a little olive oil

until lightly browned on both sides

Sprinkle tortillas with a generous layer of grated cheese of choice

or bleu cheese crumbles

**NOTE: If you don’t want to precook your tortillas, brush or spray them with olive or canola oil before baking.  Turn quesadillas half way through cooking and oil the other side and continue to bake until done

Top with an even layer of cooked beef

Top with more cheese

Top with an additional tortillas

Bake at 400 degrees F for about 15 minutes,

until cheese has melted and golden

Cut tortillas into quarters

Serve with traditional burger toppings

like crispy lettuce and sliced tomatoes

CHEESEBURGER QUESADILLAS

Taco Tuesday meets Burger Night for an easy tasty dinner, perfect for busy days!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 oz. grated cheese of choice or crumbled bleu cheese
  • 1 large sweet onion diced
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic powder
  • 2 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 flour tortillas**
  • lettuce
  • tomato slices
  • salad dressing optional

Instructions

  • Saute tortillas with a little olive oil over medium high heat until golden on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
  • Add a little more olive oil to pan and cook onion until transparent. Add beef and continue to saute until brown, using spoon to crumble beef while cooking. Drain excess fat. Add Worcestershire sauce, a dash or two of garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Lay 4 tortillas on a baking sheet. Top with a layer of cheese. Divide beef between tortillas and make an even layer. Top with remaining cheese. Top with remaining 4 tortillas.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese has melted and quesadillas are golden. Carefully cut into 1/4s. Serve with lettuce and tomato on the side, drizzled with salad dressing if desired. Serves 4
