Take-out Tuesday, Easiest Ever Slow Cooker Green Bean Casserole

This recipe is right up there with the easiest thing I’ve ever made, and it’s perfect for busy days year round, but in the summertime using  the slow cooker keeps the kitchen much cooler than turning on the oven

Our whole family was at the beach house last week, and I have to tell you that planning the meals in advance made the whole week very easy breezy

The menu was posted in the kitchen, and I got a kick out of watching everybody refer to it at various times during the week…

I overheard, “Oh good, we’re having BBQ pork tonight, and green bean casserole, I love that~”

BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and watermelon were paired with the green bean casserole for the night of the 4th, to make things extra easy on that busy day   🎆   🇺🇸

First add the McCormick Country Gravy mix and water to the slow cooker and stir.  I’d never tried this packaged gravy mix before and it is goooood

Add fresh green beans, stir and cover~ Cook for 1 hour on high, and go play princess or something…

If you peek at the beans after an hour you won’t believe this is going to turn out right, but have faith!

Just go for a boat ride and let the magic happen

After 3 hours on high, stir beans around in the luscious creamy gravy and then cover them with french fried onions

Continue cooking with lid off for 10 minutes to heat onions, then let everyone help themselves

Fresh Gourmet brand Crispy Onions are delicious straight out of the bag, as are Trader Joe’s Fried Onion pieces, so serve a bowl of them on the side for adding extra to the green beans when serving

This recipe was adapted from McCormick’s Slow Cooker Cheesy Broccoli Casserole
