Tablescapes, Trick or Treat Table

I am not very patient when it comes to some things…like when I get an idea for a recipe, a design, a painting, a tablescape, I have to do it RIGHT NOW, I will drop a conversation in mid sentence to get started…ok, a little dramatic, but as I was playing with my Halloween decor this table began to take shape and I couldn’t stop!  Halloween is still almost 2 weeks away, but I got carried away and had to set this table NOW.

This had been on the table in the foyer for a month and I was ready for a change…

Starting with a clean slate…

I spied this on the baker’s rack in the kitchen and thought it might be a good base for the centerpiece…I usually use this on my kitchen island in the summer but the black & white would work really well for Halloween! I upended the matching bowl to elevate the next piece,

the treat bowl that I use for Halloween candy. I wish I had painted it, but I didn’t…

Might as well fill it up now!

The wicked witch just flopped in…well, she’s not really wicked, she’s quite sweet and a little near-sighted!

but I think I like my funky pumpkin better…

Don’t be afraid to try a few different things until you get a look you like…

Once I had the pumpkin placed in the center, things started happening pretty quickly.  I placed a burlap runner under the centerpiece bowl and added the zebra chargers from “Walk on the Wild Side”

I added pewter plates, witch napkins, and a bottle of pumpkin ale with a trick or treat goodie jar at each place.

Some black candles surrounded by candy corn salt water taffy

and an assortment of spooky glasses!

Witch “Floppy” parked herself front and center

I took some black place mats and topped the top of the chair backs and tied them with these orange sashes [because they are made of pinky orange silk they help the chair fabric blend in yet they come across as orange]

and the table is ready for a Halloween Nosh!

Here’s the Menu:

I totally get it….when the urge strikes, you just gotta do it! The centerpiece pumpkin, which looks to double as candleholder, is terrific. Such fun this season is.

I’m pretty much like you too…if I got the idea, I immediately start on my tablescape and don’t stop til I’m done! Your table turned out fabulous! I love the Halloween plater and bowl, simply gorgeous! The pumpkin is another great piece for Halloween. Each place set is fun too. Happy Seasonal Sunday.
