Tablescapes, “Coquille” & Candlelight

I am a sucker for free shipping, are you? Even though I’m sure the cost is built in there anyway, I’m still a sucker…
I found these runners at TJMaxx.com for under $14 each. They are lined and edged with a burlap fringe and look like handpainted watercolors… I couldn’t resist 😳 These practically had my name on them….and with free shipping, why they barely cost anything…Right? Do you fool yourself reason like that?
I shortened them by folding the middles so the lobsters and sea horses would be visible
I covered up the hot mess extra fabric with a casually placed coral towel and a Sea Shell Charger
This china is “Coquille” by Fitz & Floyd and I’ve had it for centuries a long time. Coquille is French for shell
The dinner plates have 3 different large shells and the salad plates all have the same two shells
The ceramic water goblets have a shell covered base and the inside of the glasses are coral colored
I had a little fun contrasting elegant and casual
Mini shells, the towel centerpiece, burlap fringe, and casual linen napkins keep the formal tableware from getting too fussy
The towel is placed as if it had been tossed on the beach
A tall white washed silver candlestick, topped with a turquoise dish tucked inside a “Coquille bowl” helps tie in the blue seahorses
The battery operated votives are tucked in individual compotes at each place
The candlestick is tall enough to top with flowers without blocking anyone’s view
Don’t you just love a candlelight dinner?
Here are some more sea shell tablescapes~

[…] Seahorse runner/TJMaxx you can see another table using this runner on Coquille and Candlelight […]
I have this same set of dishes! I have always been a sucker for sea life, so started collecting this set when I was in high school. I have four different shells on the dinner plates. I don’t have the goblets (I wish I did because I love yours), but did manage to find glassware that matches beautifully. I also have the snack set, but seldom use it. I love those wavy salmon colored placemats that you used with this set. How perfect! You can see my set here: http://pattietierney.blogspot.com/2013/05/a-shell-of-great-table.html Great tables here!
Thanks Pattie, I remember seeing your post, and ohing and ahing over that shell covered dish…I do not have the dinner plate with the large pointy conch shell, that is gorgeous! I can’t remember why I bought only the 3 different dinner plates, if it was because I was getting a total of 6 or if the store didn’t have the other. Anyway, we have enjoyed these plates for years, and I always love bringing them out to play 🙂 The ruffled mats are from Pier 1, I think they still carry them~ >
Oh my goodness! I was thinking it was gorgeous, and then you added the flowers! This look belongs in a magazine…I’m thinking Coastal Living?

Your table makes me want to go the the beach! Very pretty, I love the coral color. I hope your summer is going well.
Lovin’ your new runners! Great colors and designs:@)
What a beautiful table. Loved all your details and your clever way of showing the very best areas on your table runners. Stunning!
So where do I start… I love it all! The runners are gorgeous, and yes… I’m a sucker for free shipping too! lol! The china is so pretty! You’ve put together a lovely nautical tablescape! ~Rhonda
Thanks Rhonda!
Lucky you — I have always loved this pattern. You had me at seashells.
Jenna, this post was delightful. I love the tablescapes you design and I know you serve wonderful food at each one.
I love your seaside runners Jenna, they are perfect for you and your table!! I love how the coral shades are accented by soft glow of the candlelight. I’m a sucker for free shipping too and I also have a Fitz & Floyd pattern that I’ve had for centuries 🙂
I love the runners and yes, I reason just like you do!! These are all very pretty!
Ooooh, Oh so pretty! The rich turquoise and lovely coral are perfect for a seascape tablescape! I love the shell goblets they perfect with the shell dishes, everything is lovely. All of your seashell tablescapes are wonderful but I think I like the first table the best even though I am seriously in love with the ruffled coral place mats. I am working on a coral color table that would look lovely with ruffled placemats. I think I need to go to Pier 1 very soon……. Have a wonderful weekend….. Candy
This is so gorgeous. I love the combo of the dishes and the table runners turned placemats! Your attention to details is stunning!

Such a beautiful table. The runners are just stunning, like individual works of art! Why did I have no idea I could buy from TJ Maxx online? You may have created a monster here! The dishes are beautiful, too, I love all the soft coral colors! Thank you so much for sharing over at Celebrate it Sunday! I am pinning and sharing!
Absolutely beautiful! I just love summer and this is perfect!
