Tablescapes, Thankful Harvest

Happy Veteran’s Day! And thank you to all our brave men and women who have sacrificed and served our country 🇺🇸 !
I spent the weekend taking care of CC and Baby Boy while mom & dad went on a trip
Their other grandmother was recruited also
Good thing….
It took the two of us, tag teaming all day long, to care for 2 little itty bitty children…
We had to do a full load of laundry after just 24 hours… we changed diapers, got spit up on, mastered bubble baths and feeding squash to a 6 month old that wanted to put it in his ears…
I’ve never been so tired in my life!
It was non stop…and we made a lot of secret pacts, like don’t ever tell ….
But we laughed a lot, and groaned a little, and did a happy dance when a text came in saying they had safely landed and we’re on the way home…
And then I said a prayer for how thankful I am for my family, and the opportunity to care for these precious gifts called grandchildren…
And then, after a day of recovery, and a glass of wine or two
I got out some of my very favorite things to set the table
and called it Thankful Harvest, for all my many blessings
Thanksgiving is not only one day a year, it should be celebrated everyday…
With a grateful heart full of memories…

A peek behind the scenes if you’re interested…
Can I watch the iPad Gigi?
I didn’t do it Gigi!
Don’t mess with him CC!
1 day’s laundry
I managed to squeeze in 5 whole seconds of decorating- I found these pillows {deer and sweater} at Home Goods for DDs holiday decor, and just had to see how they’d look ~
I was totally thrilled when I saw her elegant centerpiece included CC’s paper plate owl
Sigh…

Awww what a sweet post,Jenna, and it brought happy tears to my eyes just reading it. Your grands are such cutie pies, and I certainly can relate to the tiredness, and yes, how blessed we are. Hugs sent to you!
Thanks Kitty, I will never be the super grandma you are with your cooking camps and fun crafts! >
Beautiful–the story and the table! Hope you’ve fully recovered by now!
Judy
What a sweet post: a delightful way to start my day…….darling grandbabies and lovely fall table! Don’t you wonder how we ever handled everything “back in the day” with little ones running around?! Do, indeed, enjoy your time as a grandma. It all goes so fast…….
Rosie @ The Magic Hutch
Thanks sweet Rosie, and yes, I don’t know how they ever get anything done! My 3 were spaced much farther apart so it wasn’t as difficult~ I hope you’re feeling better… >
That last photo says it all. You are echoing the sentiments of my late mother. I used to hear old country folks say, “The Good Lord knew what he was doing when He give ’em to the young folks!”
ha ha! Lordy, you’d never know I had three of my own! Luckily they are good sleepers with early bedtimes! >
Gorgeous table and celebratory tablescape for all our blessings, Jenna! Ahhhh, little babies……nothing better or sweeter on this earth!
That last pic is a great one Jenna! It’s nice that you can help with the kids and I’m glad to hear you had some help too! Enjoy:@)
So adorable Jenna and I love that last photo! We should Give Thanks everyday for family and for another grandmother to help tag team 🙂 Your daughter is lucky to have you close by to sit for a weekend getaway!
Visiting from Share Your Style Party and what a day you had with these two adorable babies. So right even though you got exhausted what a joy it is to have these blessings.
Your table is so pretty, is that pewter I see? My mom had a collection of pewter dishes, Amatol, did I spell that right, LOL, I was only 26 when she passed and how I wish I kept them. How foolish, they go with my French style now. Live and learn. Pretty, pretty table. Enjoy those babies nd take a rest today, you earned it.
Cindy
Thank you Cindy, yes the plates are pewter, Wilton Armetal [sp?] I got them when I got married, and have LOVED them for years…I wish you had your mom’s too. I should have listed my source details but it’s all stuff I’ve used many times before so I didn’t even think about it.
Jenna, such a sweet post! First off the “grands” are SO CUTE! I can only imagine the joy they must bring! As always, beautiful autumn table! Have a joy-filled weekend!
What an absolute blessing they are you are so lucky to have grands. Your table is by far one one the prettiest I have seen all this Fall can you please tell me where you got the crystal Turkey? I love this table.Susie
hi Susie, thank you for the compliments~I have no idea where the turkey compote came from, I’ve had it forever… >
Awwwww, those little precious faces! Too sweet!! Your bling-y table looks wonderful. I have a mercury pumpkin, but can never decide really how to put it together….you’ve done so fabulously! Were the glasses hand-painted? They are adorable. Have a blessed holiday!
Thank you! Yes, I painted the glasses, you can see the turkey tutorial here: http://thepaintedapron.com/2014/11/03/creations-talkin-turkey/painted-turkey-thepaintedapron-com/ >
Oh my goodness they are so darn cute! Love that last picture with them on the chair together- adorable. Your table looks so pretty- I have a mercury pumpkin somewhere but haven’t seen it this year. I am a Grandma of a 7 week old that I haven’t seen since birth. Can’t wait to hold him at Thanksgiving!
