Fearless Friday, State Pride Sign, Sweet Home Alabama

I have spent this week getting ready for fall, stashing summer things away and pulling out some fall and football things to kick off the season

I have to be careful about what I hang on the front door, it’s not very well protected from the elements, plus critters and birds love to hang out in my wreaths!

Nothing is worse than having someone ring your doorbell only to have a bird fly out in their face  😲

Have you seen all the fun state pride things around these days, pillows, burlap ornaments and door hangers, wood signs,  just to name a few…

I decided to make a sign for my front door that not only would show state pride, but also our love of Alabama football

I played around in PicMonkey…

But ultimately I decided not to offend my Auburn friends and neighbors, and be a little more subtle about the whole thing  😜   We take our football very seriously around here…

You do not have to be an artist for this fast and easy project!

Since my front door is gray, I used a raw wood pallet piece, and painted it white and drew the state of Alabama outline on it in pencil

I did it free hand, adjusting the pencil lines until it was close enough.   Google your state to quickly access maps and shapes you can reference.  Do some practice sketches and then draw it on the board

Once the paint was dry I added a gray and white burlap bow

That’s it!

Really nothing fearless today, just a fast and easy project!

You can see lots of other states and sign examples here

So get creating and remember,  Be Fearless!

I love your state pride Jenna! I gave up hanging a wreath on our door years ago since we always ended up with a nest there. I keep waiting for the same thing to happen on my Potting Shed door. I hope you don’t have any damage from Hermine at your beach house! We were supposed to get some much needed rain but it looks like it will fizzle out and go east of us.
