This year I decided I wasn’t going to rush putting away the holiday decorations, but when I got up on the day after Christmas I looked around and thought, “all this has got to go!”
I am getting ready for a New Year with less clutter, more reading, art, exercise and healthier food after a decadent December!
Jenna, your recipes look yummy! I’m going to have to go on a serious diet. I have eaten way too much delicious food this December. I hope you have a Happy New Year!!!
I’m with you insofar as getting Christmas put away! We had company a couple days after Christmas, but I’m in full speed now, getting it stowed. Btw, one guest was upstairs and immediately noticed my Winter Moon pillow with high praise. It’s next moving to sunroom for winter interest! May your new year be filled with all those activities you’ve mentioned, Jenna!
Oh wow, thank you Rita! I have the original painting hanging over my fireplace with mantel greenery and white lights, I had red berries on the garland for Dec, but took them off for a more January winter look…My word for 2019 is declutter!!
By noon on Tuesday… Christmas will be completely put away and the snowmen will be out:@) Happy New Year Jenna, I’m headed over to check out the slow cooker carrots!
Hi Jenna, oh I felt the same way as you about the Christmas decorations. I have put away almost everything except 2 wreaths and my real Christmas tree. I plan on doing those during the week with help from my daughter. I wanted even the tree down but my daughter asked to keep it up a little while longer! I have a lot of organizing I want to do and more reading books and try to sit and do art work. I am making a baked flounder tonight for dinner as I can’t wait to start eating lighter and healthier.
I hope you do accomplish all that you want to and have a Happy New Year.
Hugs, Julie
Hi Jenna, your January plan sounds a lot like mine! Going to try to walk more and make healthier meals. I haven’t been in a hurry to take down the Christmas, simply haven’t had the energy so I’m just enjoying it. Hope to get started on it next week. Looking forward to all your recipes. Happy New Year Jenna!
I didn’t take everything completely down, just pared it back to a more winter look…we need some pretty decorations to perk up the dreary rainy days we’ve been having! Happy New Year to you and Jim!
I’m with you on January food! I think the sugar content will be going WAY down! But oh, having riffed off your peppermint cake/pie — that really was terrific. That’ll be a new holiday staple for me. And maybe other seasons, too, if I can get the ice cream! Happy New Year, my friend. I look forward to “painting” with you in the new year.
More veggies sound like a good idea, Jenna. I need to incorporate more in my daily meals. Looking forward to your recipes and some fresh ideas. My tree is all crystal icicles, snowflakes and silver and white balls so it looks very wintery and is staying up for awhile yet, to help pass the dreary January days. Happy New Year! 🥂
While December is always a decadent eating month…it seems appropriate. Your January may be lighter but it still sounds delicious. Happy and Healthy New Year.
Sounds like we have similar goals, Jenna! 😊 Eat more veggies and declutter the house! Plus make time to create art! 😉🎨💕 I like your recipe line-up for January. 👍
So grateful that things are starting to get back into the daily routine, I am so ready for it to be over for this year! I always love your paint bucket, it gives me inspiration every month! Hope you are having a great week and thanks so much for sharing with us at Full Plate Thursday.

Jenna, I am with you! I have been on sugar overload, so it all must end. Roasted artichoke hearts sounds delicious. Roll Tide, what a game!🅰️🐘🅰️
