The Organized Life, February Paint Bucket

Here we are, February 2019!
What are your plans this month, will you be celebrating Valentine’s Day, or perhaps the Chinese Year of the Pig?
We will be celebrating a Valentine birthday, and I have some plans for a special piggy table…
What do you think would be more appropriate for the Flavor of the Month, chocolate or bacon??
That’s a tough one…
Let’s go with Chocolate, and maybe a little pork too!
There are a lot of retro recipes on this month’s list, Cheddar Cheese and Pecan ring, Waldorf Salad, Pimiento Cheese, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Buckeyes, classic favorites updated. You can see the recipes and get the links on the February 2019 section of my monthly Pinterest Board here

Here’s what I made from the January Paint Bucket
The flavor of the month was Vegetable
BLT Dip from Inspired by Charm inspired me to make my own version of this favorite sandwich, and guests named it Wedge Salad Dip
It can be garnished in a variety of ways to correspond to your event or theme
Antipasto Salad Kebabs from Mantitlement inspired the post Setting the Mood with Flowers and Food with luncheon skewers of deli favorites
Winter Slaw with Red Pears and Pumpkin Seeds from Epicurious turned into
Broccoli Carrot Slaw with Creamy Yogurt Dressing
Broccoli Recipe Round Up from the Painted Apron archives, all my favorite broccoli recipes in one post
Rainbow Vegetable Pad Thai from Pinch of Yum became Oodles of Noodles with Peanut Sauce
Mushroom Stroganoff from Gimme Some Oven turned into Velvet Mushroom Stroganoff from the archives
Instead of making 2 ingredient Fat Free Lemon Bars from Jo Cooks , I made Easy Lemon Bars from Half Scratched, they have a little fat in them but are similar in calories per serving, so I opted for more flavor. Did you know that people tend to eat more of a reduced fat or no fat food than normal, they are trying to satisfy that flavor that’s missing!
Amazing PB2 Chocolate Chip Cookies from the Painted Apron archives have all the flavor of peanut butter without the extra fat
Slow Cooker Ham & Cheese Biscuit Casserole from Pillsbury turned into Ham and Cheese Volcano Bites
Another delicious month, with a little healthier dishes!
