Take-out Tuesday, Better Than A Bakery Jammin’ Cream Cheese Danish

I call these “better than a bakery” because not only are they incredibly easy to make, they are not as cloyingly sweet as many sweet rolls and danishes

The base is, yep, my best friend,

crescent roll dough

If you have jam or jelly jars that look like this in your fridge, this is the perfect way to use them up!

I got this recipe from my sweet friend Kitty@kittyscozykitchen

She is always cooking delicious treats with her grands

I changed it up a bit by adding almond emulsion to the cream cheese filling and instead of topping the sweet rolls with icing I sprinkled them with powdered sugar and sliced almonds

You don’t even have to unroll the dough,

just slice it into rounds after removing the dough from the can

Place the slices on a parchment paper lined baking sheet

Make an indentation in the center of the dough,

the larger the better, for lots of filling

Divide cream cheese filling between pastry dough slices

Top with jam or jelly

If you are more careful than I was,

the jam won’t run all over the place…

😳

But, no worries, a little powdered sugar and a pretty plate will fix that!

I used Honey Roasted Almonds {Trader Joe’s}

You can also use plain almonds or make these easy and delicious

Buttery Almonds, Pecans or Walnuts
