Home Decor, Accidental Dried Flowers

Okay, so I admit that I am a terrible gardener…
Which is ironic because I LOVE 💕 flowers
I love to have them in my house
I love to paint them
I love to create things with them
I love to do Tablescapes with them
A few weeks ago I shared an early Valentine’s Day table
The centerpiece was made up of a tall glass filled with candy
Flanked with 2 flower arrangements
The pink vase on the right held a bunch of ombre sweetheart roses
pink, yellow, orange and red
I got so much pleasure seeing them from all parts of the house
They seemed to last a really long time…
But, apparently I completely forgot to check the water…
Next thing I knew,
I had an arrangement of dried ombre roses…
I’m calling this a happy accident!
So save those Valentine flowers by drying them!
The proper method is to hang them upside down to dry…
ProFlowers has good information on drying flowers here

I’m with you. I’m an awful gardener, too. I so appreciate it in others, and I’m always pleased when the yard/plants look good but I just either don’t have the knack, the time or the motivation! But bringing flowers inside like this? That’s my thing! I know the flower departments at the grocery must love me! The pink and yellow is so pretty together — happy colors!
thanks Jeanie! I actually gasped when I realized what happened, they actually looked really pretty when they dried out naturally!
LOL, I’ve had some accidental dried arrangements over the years too! Yours look pretty good!
They really were beautiful! Have a wonderful week Carole~
Jenna, the roses dried beautifully. Allowing the water to dry up often makes for gorgeous dried flowers! Happy Sunday!
Good to know! I think the reason I can’t/don’t garden is that I’m too lazy! Obviously I can’t even check the water in an indoor vase 😂
I’ve certainly done that, and sometimes they accidentally become exquisite!
I was so surprised, I’m going to try it again!
The best way is to take the bouquet, secure it with a rubber band, and hang it upside down to dry. Keeps the shape better. Then, of course, it is no ‘accident.’
Yes, I have done it that way, this was just funny because it was not what I meant to happen! Thanks Dorothy
Happy accidents!
You do Jenna, have such lovely flowers in your home and I love the flowers you paint, especially daffodils!!! I’ve always enjoyed drying flowers and it happens, the accidental dried arrangement. I have a hard time parting with them after they’ve dried……..
Thank you Emily! I need to paint more daffodils 🌼 🙂
You always have such pretty flowers and arrangements, Jenna. Always so cheerful and lovely. Love your beautiful artwork too!!💗💗
thank you Patty Anne 🌷
I love happy accidents! They dried beautifully! 🙂
I love dried roses and have some in a beautiful tea cup in our master bedroom! Your happy accident makes me happy too!
Oh what a lovely idea! Thanks Nancy 🙂
I’m like you when it comes to gardening. I’m not very good at it, but I love having flowers all around. I keep trying and am so excited when some of those flowers actually come from my garden.
A happy accident indeed! Happy Sales to you Jenna ♥
Well you sure know how to decorate and draw and paint flowers, Jenna. I think the dried flowers are beautiful and I’m sure you’ll find a way to use those flowers.
Thank you Kitty!
Well, you got a great bang for your buck, fresh and dried! Thrifty! ♥️
ha ha, you’re right! Thanks Cyndi 🙂
Beautiful flower creations! I think spring is on the way!
Flowers are blooming all over the place here, I just hope we don’t get a late freeze…
