Views from the Porch, July

Since I am lucky enough to be staying at home at the beach house,

I am sharing some views from the porch today

You never know what is going to float by!

Boats of all shapes and sizes, parasail 🪂 boats,

charter fishing, speed boats…

Don’t forget to look up at the sky

Lots of rainbows lately

and often a helicopter or two

Kite flying is fun on windy days

Beautiful sunsets

Our resident blue heron, Freddy,

wades and fishes

He makes a daily appearance by the pool for a drink of water

The morning after a violent thunderstorm,

we found a red pontoon boat,

which had broken free of it’s mooring,

snuggled safely next to our pier

Tiki bar boats seem to be the new thing this summer

I hope they are all related

because there is no social distancing here!

You really never know what you might see on the waterway in front of our house

It is parallel to a strip of Perdido Key

which separates it from the Gulf of Mexico,

just beyond the beach road,

where you can see parasails floating over the water

After a full day of entertainment,

I like to wind down with soft colored lights

Good night 😴

Thank you for your visit!

Good morning, Jenna! I so enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful sites from your beach house. Those sunsets are gorgeous! I’m sorry to hear about your laptop. Computer issues are no fun. Take care, and I hope you enjoy your day!

Love seeing what you’re seeing! We’ve had such beautiful rainbows this summer like you. It’s been a gift 😁

It’s so good to see Freddie! What amazing skies you have — those sunsets and rainbows are breathtaking!

Thanks for this post–one of your best ever. I needed a rainbow and a beautiful sunset in my life. My, but the parade in front of your porch is fascinating–wish I could sit out there with you and watch and sip some sweet tea. Love the lights! Your porch-watching seems like an enchanting past time.
    Thanks for sharing! Georgia Gal

    • Oh Shelia, thank you, I am delighted I could bring you a rainbow and a sunset! Yes, it is enchanting, ever changing, peaceful and very entertaining. I would love to sit and sip with you Georgia Gal!

Oh Jenna, what I wouldn’t give to have a place like that and be able to escape while still feeling at home! The rainbow and sunsets are just spectacular, and the kids’ kites are great. The evening lights are bliss. You are blessed, lady!
    ps those tiki bar boats!

You certainly have the perfect house for being on full time vacation. Sitting out by the pool and watching a daily parade of boats, kites and tiki bars float by would be my favorite spot. Love the colored lights you enjoy after dark. Sure hope your new laptop arrives on time. We don’t want to miss any of your posts! So happy you are staying and enjoying the beach. It will time to pack up and head back to the city before you know it………

Your place is gorgeous and thanks for showing us so many different boats going by. How fun. I love your lights at night. I’d love to pull up a chair and bask in the beauty of your special place. Thank you for a great blog. I seldom comment, but always read!

    • Thank you Diane, I appreciate you reading!! This is the favorite place for everyone in our family, and thankfully they are able to come often. Unfortunately cases are spiking here, lots of out of state tourists flocking to the coast after being in quarantine…

  9. Jenna, your porch views are fabulous. The sunset and rainbows are stunning, ocean sunsets are the best? I could sit there all day and watch the parade of boat. I am just so glad you have your beach home to enjoy♥️

PS Good to see Freddy enjoying your pool!

    • Thanks so much Pam, I am so grateful every day to be able to be here enjoying the sun, see breezes and water…I have seen some amazing things while sitting on the porch!!

Well thank you for some lovely pictures of summer! Love the sunsets and seeing all the different boats, the kite was pretty awesome , too! Your deck lights are very pretty and create a lovely effect. Water makes me happy even if I am just looking at it, but totally happier if I’m in it! Hehe. Hope to go to the beach Saturday or Sunday. 🌞🌊

  11. Mary says:

Wonderful views and sightseeing from your porch Jenna! We’ve noticed not much social distancing going on on crowded boats on our lake too.

    • At least people can go boating and be outside, but this area is spiking because housebound tourists from many states are desperate for a beach holiday! July 4th was nuts!

  12. It’s always fun to boat watch! I love the floating tiki bars but do have to agree, it doesn’t seem like the best time for it right now. Enjoy those beautiful sunsets:@)

  13. Joanne says:

What beautiful views!! We often see boats and jet skis of all kinds off our back porch too since we live on a lake. No kites or parasailing though.
