Creations, Glamorous Gold Bottle

Thank you Rachelle of My Hubbard Home for hosting

If you’re coming from First Day of Home Welcome!

And if you’re here to see Fall crafts you are in for a treat

on the links at the end of the post

Now, let’s get crafting!

One of my favorite things to upcycle is a glass bottle,

there are so many things you can do with them!

This is a liqueur bottle that I saved because of it’s unusual square shape

One side is copper and gold and the other side has several discs of aqua

I used paint, pieces of old jewelry, small tiles, and flat sided glass beads

I painted the bottle white

and painted the rectangular insets with gold

Gold paint can be tricky,

I found my craft gold paint was thin and didn’t cover well,

so I used artist’s acrylic gold to achieve an opaque result

I painted abstract designs on the black glass flat sided beads

with quick strokes using a small brush

When the bottle paint was dry I laid it down

and played with the different various embellishments

until I had a composition I liked

and then glued everything in place with a glue gun

and did the other side

The top was painted gold and embellished with discs

that would match both sides of the bottle

I gave the bottle “shoulder pads” with gold glass beads

and smaller painted black beads

and put another painted black bead in the center of the top

Each side also got a painted black bead

I have been enjoying it in the family room,

in the corner on a shelf in the secretary

It also looks nice on the dining room table

with other seasonable elements

I like the copper side for Fall and can display the side with aqua

in the Spring and Summer

Jenna, what a fun way to use a bottle and make it glamorous! I need to return to my crafty side from years ago. I love that you made two different looks, a spring and fall. Happy Wednesday 🙏🏻

  2. Rachelle says:

Jenna, what a great recycle craft. I never thought about turing a bottle into such a lovely work of art. You must get a lot of compliments on it, and questions on how it was done. Thanks for sharing the instructions with us!

Jenna, what a fun project! I was looking at this, taking in all of the details, and thinking this is just the reason I love crafting, to be able to transform something and just let whatever happens, what happens. Your bottle is a great little addition to your fall vignette!

  4. Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors says:

Jenna, your bottle is so glamorous and beautiful! It is the perfect accessory to complete a vignette. It looks so pretty in both your secretary, and I love the aqua side with the MC pieces. It looks like it was made to go with them. Happy Wednesday!

Jenna, how clever dressing up and doing a recycle on these pretty bottles. I also thinks it’s nice to use a variety of old jewelry and old buttons and whatever we have. So many pretty vignettes around your home. This bottle, so pretty on both sides really makes a pretty addition to your bottle collection…….Happy Wednesday.

    • Thanks Emily, it was such a fun project, some of the pieces I used were parts of jewelry that I loved so much I basically wore it out, so it’s fun to still keep enjoying it this way!

    I love these. So creative.

  7. Jenna, I love your creativity! I’m glad I’m not the only one who looks at objects and sees the potential in them for a little paint and embellishment. Yours turned out so sweet. I think I have that same gold paint, too! 🙂 Happy to be on this hop with you!

  8. Hi Jenn, what a fun up-cycling project. I love the way your creative mind works. Your darling bottle is a cute fall addition!

  9. Debra says:

Wow, Jenna! Who would believe that is really an Italian liquor bottle? Very nice transformation and it looks perfect with your decor!

  10. You are seriously so creative! I would never have thought of this! Such a fun way to use up old jewelry! Fun idea!

Jenna this is SO cute! I love how you decorated them – the jewelry and glass are beautiful! My mom used to do something a little like this, and it brought back wonderful fun memories. Thanks for that and for all the inspiration! Such fun doing another hop with you!

  13. These are really cute, Jenna, both of them. It’s a terrific upcycle and there’s a lot of use for them!

Jenna, what a great way to use a glass bottle for a fall decoration. Very pretty and nice to use embellishments you already had. I’ll have to tell Sweet Shark to save our Amaretto bottles.

  18. lghiggins says:

What a nice fall decoration, but could be designed for any season. I’ll be saving unusual bottles for future projects; thanks for the great ideas.

  19. I totally love this idea! My husband and I tend to keep especially nice liquor bottles, but I never thought of this approach to decorating them. I will be featuring this idea in this week’s Creative Compulsions.
